AR Trial Balance
Open customer invoice balances as of today — aged by due date across current, 30, 60, 90, and 90+ day buckets. Run monthly to reconcile against your AR GL account.
What is the AR Trial Balance?
The AR Aged Trial Balance lists every open customer invoice and how much remains uncollected. P21 offers three variants — by due date, by invoice date, and by invoice date with options (which can include fully paid invoices).
Run this report monthly and compare the total open balance to the cumulative balance of your AR GL account for the same period. A mismatch usually points to manual GL postings, write-offs posted to the wrong account, or consolidation issues.
Open Balance Calculation
Each invoice's open balance is calculated as:
Open Balance = Invoice Amount
+ Memo Amount
+ Bad Debt Amount
− Allowances
− Terms Discount Taken
− Tax Terms Taken
− Total Receipts
Only invoices where this result is non-zero appear — fully paid invoices are excluded.
Report Variants
P21 ships three AR ATB reports:
This page mirrors the By Invoice Date query and displays aging relative to each invoice's net due date.
Aging Buckets
Invoices are aged from their net due date — the date payment is due after applying the customer's terms.
